Last topic from me for the next several days… when I come back I’m sure you all will have added plenty of tasty insights on this.

The thought that occurred to me was this: perhaps before professing rules for others, one should reconcile his own inconsistencies of thought.

“But if you are the voice that is talking, then who is listening?”

This question from the excerpt reminds me of a conversation I had with a friend a long time ago. I wish I remember exactly how he worded it because it had such an impact on me (and I’m sure he got it from some teaching but no idea who), but basically he said this: When I say something is “mine”, it’s because it belongs to me. Since I say “my” body, I guess it’s because it belongs to my mind. But then who am _I_ if “my” mind belongs to _me_?

Drew – By “inconsistencies of thought”, do you mean the thoughts and beliefs that are not true? If you’re saying find and throw out the lies in your head, then I say no one would have any lies if it were that easy to spot them in the first place (unless they preferred to keep them). When you’re stuck inside a closed box of your own paradigm and beliefs it’s pretty tough to think outside of it… I consider myself fairly well-read, but you still have a gift for making my head hurt

I find the essay inconsistent thinking, not logical thought. Example:

The author states: I call it “the voice of knowledge” because it’s telling you everything you know… The voice of knowledge can also be called the liar who lives in your head.

That voice is usually lying

Rule number one: Don’t believe yourself.

————-
If the author suggests the voice is “usually” lying, but posits an absolute rule: Don’t believe yourself.

Well, what about when your voice of what you know is telling the truth? The author does not rule this out, but then Rule number one is broken. You SHOULD be listening to yourself when you tell yourself the truth.

With out more consistent thought to guide how to distinguish for oneself what are the lies of the trickster mind and what are the true thoughts that lead to the faith and beliefs , well… the essay has a pessimistic view of the reader, and it all falls apart very quickly.

“You SHOULD be listening to yourself when you tell yourself the truth.” I’m hearing the word truth to mean your truth – what’s best for your happiness. I didn’t like the article because there is only one you, the thinker.
This video, of Esther Hicks, says it best for me. Especially when she says,
“Somebody else, who didn’t want that, gave it their attention, and attracted it into their experience, and because they did that, you should, too?!”

Hi Christina – thanks for that one I enjoyed listening to that lady. Would like to trade worry for hope all the time. Will give it a try, particularly with my family name. I did not catch the website address for that lady. Can you give it to me please? Would like to hear more. Glenice

Her name is Esther Hicks – and she is my “go to” voice for hearing how to create on purpose from different blocks. The recordings are from workshops she has done with her husband, Jerry. It’s so fun because it is conversational and you get to hear all sorts of questions and the answers are always the same – just different lives! Anytime you would like to hear something, and have fun, go to YouTube, put “Abraham Hicks” in the search bar and watch how the universe delivers a video buffet on the list below – here is a link bolow for videos, too! then look on the right side bar for more and more and more!!! Their web site is: http://www.abraham-hicks.com/lawofattractionsource/index.php

Christina – I was still playing, but in the wrong bit. I haven’t looked at the second one yet. But thanks for that. It sounds really interesting. Will check it out over the weekend.

This is just wonderful – this site – the amount of caring and sharing between everyone is just brilliant. I am not sure how I managed to say that without using a lot of Aussie venacular is beyond me. Language, Glenice language.

Christina – I couldn’t wait, so I have just watched the second video you posted. What can one say other than wow! wow! wow! I think my weekend is now going to be very full. And now I will go get ready for dinner with the love of my life and keep MY feelings positive and focus on what I want to fill my life with. You girl are a ‘bloody’ ripper!! Sorry, if that word offends, but where I come from that is a hugh compliment. Glenice

I love it! May I put that quote on the new blog I am building? I would enjoy being called that by people all over the world! Being called a bloody ripper feels fantastic, Glenice, thank you!! I hope your dinner is delicious full of amazingness!

Good heavens! Christina where are you from? I am stunned that someone would want that title permanently on a site. It is a compliment, but is what could be called a very old fashioned Aussie expression. I am more than happy for you to use it! But!! If you are comfortable with the idea I would like to have a look at the site when you get it going. Til later Glenice

When I looked it up, it said the meaning is ‘fantastic’~! Bloody Ripper sounds so much more exciting : ) I am from so many places, but Ohio is where I grew up and live, again, now.
