‘…surrendered to having it …’. I love it. Know that it has already occurred and release the resistance. Tall order. I’m so impressed you and your family were able to envision and materialise exactly what you wanted. (Dianne) |

Wow, thanks for all these videos, I’ll definitely check them out when I’m done catching up with all the other discussions on this forum. Drew – I agree that Don Miguel Ruiz’s guidance and rules are a little over the top (actually, creating any rules regarding such spiritual matters is over the top, since everyone is different). However, I posted it mostly for the gist of it–the conflict between your trickster ego self, and your higher all-knowing self that is connected to the Is/One/Universe/Light/god/whatever-you-want-to-call-it. I figure everyone can pick and choose the parts (if any) that work for and resonate with them (and I see some of you have already). Mel – you have great point about why he might have chosen the term “liar”. Lastly, seeing all your mixed reviews reassures me you all are thinking for yourselves (the world needs more of this)!! |

TC- sorry if my terse reply seemed harsh. To think of rules or laws for such things and then condense them to text puts one into the discipline of philosophy. I see a lot of value in the pursuit and in looking beyond the differences to similaritites. Entering that arena, however, naturally brings evaluation and criticism, and philosophers are by nature a rigorous bunch. |

Whew-what a day! Hope everyone is great! Richard, if you’re reading along, I laughed out loud on my bed when the words, “Use your imagination. . .so that the higher mind will bring a story. . .to allow the higher mind to deliver what needs to be delivered.” because it reminded me of “You’re always free to change your mind and choose a different future, or a different past.” Glenice, in terms of being at work etc. there are interesting questions by women in videos and each of these people addressed that. Maybe you’ll have a good laugh if nothing else! It’s interesting to see how we think, believe etc. |

Drew – no offense taken, I see where you are coming from now. Curious though, which philosophers have influenced you most (just to name the top few)? Clearly you are well-read, for you always bring many new insights to this forum. And any recommended reading (fiction or non-fiction) that isn’t so heavy that it turns off potential philosopher-to-be’s? |

Camilla that stood out for me – the argue for your limitations has been going through my head all night while I’m building this blog. It’s too much work-the second I realize I have had that thought, I realize, “Oh gee wiz, Richard. Then how do a build it?”. I’ve had to step away for a few hours. Then I saw more of what it could be, without my demands. |

TC – you will always be your own best philosopher, and the process is not heavy if you make it light. All you need do is consider why you do what you do, then reconcile the apparent inconsistencies, form a set of principles, and you are there. If you can tell a good story on top of that, you’ll become famous if you want to be. I think Richard’s characters provide as good a starting point as any for exploring the bigger questions. |

Oh, I am loving this thread! Christina, I had a similar experience with an online friend a few months ago. I’ve forgotten her exact words, but she was commenting on the intensity of my emails when my spirit’s flying free. It was something to the effect that she loved it but it scared her a little, it was just too _much_. So I had to smile at the “passionate but a little crazy” experience. |

Drew – I agree everyone is their own best philosopher, and I think we all do it some degree, here. I was just wondering who has influenced you the most; I enjoy finding books by thinkers whose ideas make sense to me, and adding them to my own way/s of seeing the world. |

TC – you might investigate some of the thinkers behind the transcendentalism movement to explore their ideas, some of which trace back to Kant. Wikipedia provides a collection of sorts to serve as a jumping off point. |

Christina, I gave Esther Weaver Hicks and her imaginary friend Abraham speaking through her, of course, more of a listen. “There is nothing that comes to you that does not come on the powerful, well-defined, always accurate, always fair basis of law of attraction. Nothing ever comes to you that isn’t about that.” Abraham: No Accident is accidental video at 7:17 I think this notion that people have “attracted” by “law” or “vibrational hook” (equated to FEELINGS), not by coincidence, chance, or the actions of nature or of other humans, all the calamaties that may befall them in life, is a blameful and bankrupt message with no basis in reality. Taken to the logical conclusion, making innocent victims into the cause of the events that befall them because they “attracted” that eventuality based on their feelings… this has a very condescending undertone. Imagine the worst crime against humanity you can think of. Insert thing:___________. Now, imagine an innocent victim of ___________. This Abraham Hicks teaching is that victim brought it about him/herself, “attracted it”, because of his/her “vibrational hook”. And the result of this attraction was “well-defined, always accurate, always fair.” Personal responsibility extends only so far. |

(Sorry for barging in and shaking wet dog hair all over the place.) While reading comments and viewing the vids, a similar thought occurred to me as well: some of my teeth are bad, born with them that way, take very good care of them. I didn’t arrange this. Yes, in a strong sense I can imagine becoming victimized by the tooth fairy, having nothing in my vibration which arranged this as an infant. At the same time, what IF, what IF I make my vibrational state such that I could somehow some way make them stronger? Longer lasting? attract a really good dentist? (or negative: fall out). Isn’t the idea of many of these threads and site along these sorts of lines? As suggested by someone, possibly a victim arranged to experience that state of being, and yet, I do agree on not blaming the victim. If I see a little old lady getting mugged and think “just think, she may have arranged for this in a prior state of being, how fascinating.”….

Okay, so my son in law lost his job a few weeks back. Since my “job” was taking care of my grandson five days a week, I have now lost my job as well, and 1/2 of my income (thank heavens for Social Security). If my son in law somehow attracted this situation to himself, I certainly wish he had consulted me first, because I have property taxes and income taxes to pay, and l’m going to be eating an awful lot of ramen noodles. Do dogs like ramen? |

Dear Sharon, sounds like it was beyond everyone’s control. I hope my muddy footprints didn’t give the wrong impression on the previous post. |
