To Whom Cares: Forum’s Working!

HERE’S A YOU-CAN-COLLAPSE-AND-SLEEP-NOW delicious name-your-favorite celebration cake for Chris our Webmaster! The forum’s up under “Community” on the menu bar effective now.

No rules for anybody except post something inappropriate and I’ll delete it and shut down your access. You’ve found what “inappropriate” means after you’ve been deleted.

Since I am fairly prim on coarse language and low-class ideas, assume I’m spring-loaded to the REJECT position, don’t mess with me and everything will be fine. Here’s a guide: so far there hasn’t been a single post on the site that I’ve found less that positive and thoughtful and appropriate for discussion.

Let me or Chris know any problems you have with the forum/discussion pages should you decide to play there and run into trouble.

You can pick up the title of any journal entries from the beginning of the site, if you feel like developing those ideas. Be careful about disagreeing with me, though. I shall allow only a hundred, that is, a single hundred disagreements on any one topic before I’ll begin to consider I might have said something wrong.

  1. Hmm. Part of me wants that, because I think we have a lot to say. But part of me fears it, afraid that we will stray too far from richardbach.com and turn this small quiet place into something bigger and noisier. Having your posts, Richard, be the jumping off point for our discussions seems wisest, but perhaps too safe?

  2. It’s hard enough to get on with my work as it is, without more more distractions from you! Just joking. Have to say though Richard, (I’m sure I’m not alone in this) it’s great getting posts from you, it’s like receiving letters from a long lost friend. I did want to respond to a post a while back where you talked about the dilemma between making money and writing, and spending too much time on your website. I think you could obviously go too far to the extreme of neglecting your “work” but I think your activity on your website will pay financial dividends too (I’m pretty sure that’s not your primary reason for doing it) as it shows your current “family” that you’re still out there and we can stay up-to date with your latest projects/ thoughts/ideas. Also being such a vibrant site I think will mean new people will discover you too. Actually I’m not sure if your website isn’t just part of your “work” now – perhaps it’s the way that it has evolved? It’s just difficult to see immediate tangible direct financial gain from it.

  3. This discussion page is important, says Richard Bach only if it’s funny, this includes the capacity to deepening the details of wonder at life, very few messages of deep near-death experiences, and unify our highest sense of right with our spiritual family, and many other hot topics.

  4. If I might make a suggestion, as long as we’re talking about changes. If there was a list of posts on the side of the page, it would make finding a specific one much easier. I’m sure I’ve missed some, and missed some comments, because the Recent Comments column only lists the last four or five. Perhaps a list of Richard’s posts, with the number of replies next to each post? Just a suggestion.

  5. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED….WARNING….make sure your dishes are done and put away before engaging in this once in a lifetime chance to meet up with ALL these selves……..if you haven’t tried the forum you really must- if you need some help don’t hesitate to contact the chiefs cause they are really helpful.(Chris and Richard and the others behind the scene)

I look forward to checking in with my “Richard Bach Family” each morning!
What a wonderful way to start the day.
And, it is so exciting to actually get a reply from you Richard! It makes me all weepy!(In a good way!)
It would be really neat to have a “photo album” link. I would really like to be able to click a link to see photos or videos. Also, is it okay for us to post photos or videos to share, as well as comments?
Thank you so very much for all of your hard work on this site Chris!!! If there is anything that you need assistance with, I would be happy to do anything to help that you might need.
    I love you guys!

  8. Usually I choose not to get involved with blogs, forums and discussions – but I just wanted to be part of this one. I will always be grateful for having found your books Richard and am pleased to have this opportunity to say ‘thank you’ for these and for setting up this forum.

  9. WOW! What a wonderous thing to find on a Monday. Richard before there was the internet, in a small redneck town, your book Illusions, was delivered to me by a young man to my English 1A class. It opened my mind and horizons to the possibilities of what life could be. Thank you for all your words of wisdom, and inspiration! It’s an honor to be here <3

    • This made me laugh. I gave Illusions away so a good friend could read it when I lived in a small town and immediately regretted it (way before internet etc) and then ‘woke up’ If I want it back….so I envisioned it and walked into the small town drug store and guess what was there!

  10. I live in Trelew, a small city in the middle of Patagonia. Im a pilot too.. when i read “Juan Salvador Gaviota” i thought for first time ‘someone knows what flying means’ not because the manneuvers, but the other hidden level that one is made to cross when this passion knocks our door.. with this book i had the same feeling as with “the little prince” of Antoine.. someone can’t be the same one after reading this book. thank you very much Richard

  11. Hi everybody! My name is Rodrigo and I live in the pleasant city of San José in Costa Rica. I´m so happy I can join this “brotherhood” of people touched by the Richard´s particular way of convert in words what you feel inside when you are alone looking at this big universe… Thank you Richard!!
